Clinical sensitivity, specificity and accuracy
Nasopharyngeal swab
Clinical sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of Orient Gene's coronavirus rapid test cassettes were evaluated in an outpatient setting by testing patients in the United States.
The testing was performed by 24 health professionals who were unfamiliar with the testing procedure. A total of 865 fresh nasopharyngeal swabs were collected and tested, of which 119 were positive and 746 were negative. The results of the Rapid Test for COVID-19 antigen were compared with the results of the PCR test for SARS-CoV-2, performed by RT-PCR, approved by the US FDA
Based on the results, it is established:
Relative sensitivity - 98.32%
Relative specificity - 99.60%
Accuracy: 99.42%
Nasal swab
Based on the results, it is established:
Relative sensitivity - 97.25%
Relative specificity - 100%
Accuracy - 98.73%
A total of 237 nasal swabs were collected and tested in patients with and without symptoms, of which 109 were positive and 128 were negative. The results for the Orien Gene Coronavirus Express Antigen Cassette were compared with the SARS-CoV-2 PCR test results in nasopharyngeal samples
